Pfeiffer Library is named for former Tiffin University President, Richard C. Pfeiffer and his wife Jean E. Pfeiffer. Originally built in 1968, Pfeiffer Library underwent expansion in 1996. The library has doubled its size by expanding the lower level and the main floor, and adding an upper level. The new addition has tripled its capacity for resources and study space.
The Library is a member of the Ohio Private Academic Libraries (OPAL) consortium and OhioLINK, a consortium of Ohio’s college and university libraries. This allows students, staff, and faculty access to quick inter-library loans, scholarly journals, and on-line databases.
Pfeiffer Library has an outstanding collection of books and subcribes to more than 200 journals to support its academic programs. In addition to print resources, Pffeiffer Library provides its journal collection in microfiche format and has an expanding selection of databases, including the periodical indexes. Special collections include the National Criminial Justice Reference Service Document Collection and the University Archives.
Circulation is automated and requires the use of the bar code on the Tiffin University Students ID cards or Pfeiffer Library cards. Library services include reference assistance, photocopying, interlibrary loan, computerized bibliographic retrieval, and reserve items.
